Chemung County IDA Public Hearing Scheduled
The Chemung County IDA will be holding a public Hearing on Friday September 10, 2010 at 9:30 am at the Big Flats Town Hall.
The CCIDA is considering whether to undertake a certain project and whether to provide certain exemptions from taxation. The “project’ refers to 343 Daniel Zenker Drive. Please click on the link below for the full description of the public hearing.

Big Flats Historical Society Quilt Raffle
This years Annual Quilt Raffle for the Historical Society features the “Bear Paw Quilt”. This beautiful quilt is about 92″ x 92″. Ann Hayes put many hours into this piece of art.
The drawing for this beautiful quilt will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010. You can purchase 15 tickets for $10. Please stop by the Historical Society on Tuesdays from 9am to Noon for tickets or give them a call at 607–562–7460. Perhaps you could be the lucky winner of the 2010 Quilt Raffle! Good Luck!
Kahler Road Bridge Closing
The Chemung County Public Works Department has announced that the Kahler Road Bridge in the Town of Big Flats will be closed to all traffic beginning August 13, 2010. The bridge is located south of the I-86 interchange between Memorial Park and County Route 64.
The New York State Department of Transportation discovered structural deficiencies in the bridge’s timber decking during a routine inspection. The bridge will be closed indefinitely until a study to determine future options for replacement or rehabilitation of the bridge is completed.

Notice is hereby given that the Final Assessment Roll for the Town of Big Flats,
in the County of Chemung, for the year 2010 has been finally completed by the
undersigned Assessor, and a certified copy thereof was filed in the office of the
Town Clerk on the First day of July, 2010, where the same will remain open to public inspection until October 1, 2010.
